In this LEGO Minecraft: The First Night Review, we take a look at the next LEGO Minecraft set in the Minecraft theme.
The First Night set 21115 is a mid-priced LEGO Minecraft Set and contains 408 pieces which works out at around $0.11USD per piece if you buy this at the recommended retail price.
As a mid-priced product you’d expect more pieces in this set, however the focus is on making sure Steve has enough stuff to survive his first night. It’s also one of the few sets that contain a Minecraft Creeper which is a completely, new element from LEGO.
Anyway, let’s take a look at what’s inside the LEGO Minecraft – The First Night set.
LEGO Minecraft: The First Night Review – Set 21115
Based on the front cover of the box, this LEGO Minecraft set looks awesome, and wouldn’t it be even more awesome if we had a background image like the one shown on the box.
We can also see images of the Minecraft MOBS included in the set, and it also shows an image of the house swinging open, but more on that later.
There are some great LEGO Minecraft Objects in this set, so let get started.
Here’s what the LEGO Minecraft – The First Night set looks like when built.
Finally, we see an actual weapon in the form of a wooden sword, and Steve’s going to need it, to survive the first night.
Yes, as it starts to get dark, you can expect to see MOBS spawning in your Minecraft World, so you’ll want to get this Minecraft House built before they do.
Fortunately, there’s a pig nearby, so Steve will need to use his resources to build some fencing, to keep him safe.
Included in this set is a LEGO Minecraft Oak Tree which can be used for wood and there are a number of flowers used for decoration.
But it’s inside where all the magic happens.
This feature adds a unique playability element, to this set and enables you to get inside and still play while it’s dark in your LEGO Minecraft World.
And there are some cool accessories inside this Minecraft house as you’ll see soon.
But first, let’s take a look at the LEGO Mini Figures included in this set.
Minecraft Mini Figures and Accessories
There are two regular mini figures in this set, a Steve and a Creeper.
The Minecraft Steve has a blue top and purple pants and a square head as you’d expect from a LEGO Minecraft Minifig. And although the body is that of a standard LEGO minifig, the head certainly gives you a feel you’re playing with Minecraft.
And don’t worry about not having enough Steve’s to play with as you get either a Steve or Alex in every LEGO Minecraft set.
The Minecraft Creeper uses one piece for the body, so the legs are fixed in place. It has a Creeper styled block head and some green tiles are used for arms. It’s definitely one of the most custom LEGO Minecraft MOBS you’ll find in the theme, so you must expect to pay a little extra.
So between the first 3 LEGO Minecraft sets, LEGO has managed to cover most of the more common MOBS in the game.
And now onto the LEGO Minecraft Animal MOB.
The Minecraft Pig yes finally we get a LEGO Mincraft Pig, and it’s one of the cutest MOBS I’ve seen. How can you possibly want to turn him into pork chops. It’s strictly a vegetarian diet for my Steve.
Again the LEGO Minecraft Pig has a custom blocky head and uses other common LEGO elements for the rest of the body.
For the minifig accessories, we get a wooden pickaxe, a wooden sword, torches, chest, bread, a crafting table, a bed and bedside table, a furnace and a small pot plant.
Now I’m beginning to see where the extra cost for this set comes from.
The time to build this LEGO Minecraft -The First Night set will vary depending on your experience with LEGO, but it shouldn’t take much more than 45 minutes to build.
In this LEGO Minecraft Alternate Build, we see the tree has been moved off the roof and now forms part of the landscape.
Of course, the indoor furniture can also be re-arranged to suit your needs.
Stop Motion Video Example
Now it wouldn’t be a proper review at BrickFlicks TV without showing you a stop motion that uses the LEGO Minecraft – The First Night set.
So sit back and enjoy the show…
I’ve enjoyed this LEGO Minecraft: The First Night Review and having a Minecraft Creeper is really cool. Plus being able to get inside the Minecraft House improves the playability of this set.
The attention to detail inside the house also makes for great gameplay and that LEGO Minecraft Pig is just too cute 🙂 Pity there is only one.
Great Job LEGO!
